Accessibility Statement

We want everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use the Beit Hakerem JLM website easily and independently. This statement describes the accessibility of the Site in accordance with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013.

Accessibility level

The Site was built and tested to conform with Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at level AA, and we also check it against WCAG 2.1 level AA.

What we have done

Semantic page structure with a main landmark and a logical heading order, so screen readers can navigate by region and heading.
Text alternatives for every meaningful image; purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
Full keyboard operation of links, buttons, forms, the cookie banner and the tour pop-up.
Form fields with accessible names, required fields marked, and error messages announced.
Text and background colour combinations that meet the WCAG AA contrast ratio.
Pages that work when text is enlarged up to 200% and on small screens, without horizontal scrolling.
No flashing content, and no content that plays sound automatically.
Regular automated testing (axe-core) and manual keyboard testing on desktop and mobile.

Supported browsers and assistive technology

The Site is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and mobile, and with the screen readers NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible — for example, text that appears inside images of the project, or documents provided by third parties. If you find any part of the Site that is difficult to use, please let us know and we will do our best to fix it or provide the information in another way.
